LOS ANGELES: This year’s annual LA Screenings conclave is set to be held May 15-25, in Los Angeles. The event offers a one on one opportunity for The Kitchen’s team to work with buyers, distributors, producers, networks and studios first hand, in customizing their individual programming needs.
The Kitchen,the industry’s only Emmy Award Winning language translation, dubbing and subtitling services facilities, believes that the yearly LA Screenings gathering are one of the single most important trade shows of the year, “especially with regard to the Latin American programming market,” Deeny Kaplan, Executive Vice President explained.
Amanda Ortega, Director of Latin American Sales, will join Deeny Kaplan again this year, and already her schedule is very full.
“Programming for both the Neutral Spanish and Brazilian television markets continues to grow, both to and from each language. Telenovelas’ are now being sold throughout the globe, and countries around the world are emulating the format. The same is true for just about every other genre of programming as well,” Kaplan continued.
“We’ve dubbed Hindi to Spanish; Turkish to French; Portuguese to Korean, for various telenovelas, and the format seems to be bigger than ever. We are currently working on 5 telenovela series in our studios, and we see tremendous growth potential”, Deeny Kaplan commented. “And the same is true, for Japanese game shows; French reality programming; cartoons from just about every language, and on and on. The art of creating a new language version of just about every type of TV series, or program, is where The Kitchen excels,” Kaplan concluded.
