International Day of Play The Kitchen Way

For 25+ years, The Kitchen has provided international language services for some of the biggest and most prolific producers of children’s content. Congratulations to Mattel; Fisher-Price; Hasbro; Sesame Workshop, etc., for always putting children first!

In celebration of the studio’s long-term commitment to safety, security, education and global teachings for children, The Kitchen celebrates the 2026 International Day of Play (observed June 11) and this year’s theme:  "Protect play, protect childhood".

Today’s International Day of Play is primarily led by United Nations, UNICEF, and UNESCO, and a number of private-sector companies and foundations, such as the companies listed above.

This theme serves as a global reminder for governments, schools, and families that happy, healthy childhoods depend on play. It focuses on safeguarding children's time, space, and freedom to play in an era of shrinking public spaces and digital distractions.
