The Kitchen US, as well as many of the other Kitchen studios, in territories around the globe, have become “experts in the anime genre”. Anime, with more than 4500 titles released to date (from its origination in 1960), was valued at 24.1 billion US dollars (pre-pandemic). Movies, streaming, live entertainment and merchandising have all contributed to the growth of, and interest in, anime in recent years.

While The Kitchen has provided dubbing and subtitling services for many anime titles in the past with great success, the pandemic, the “new normal” created by the pandemic, has allowed all of our studios to expand our voice teams globally, giving us access to remote recording with some of the very best voice talent in the business. Remote recording for most dubbed genres was something that few had even tried before the country to country stay-at-home order. In 2020, not only has The Kitchen expanded its remote capabilities, its worldwide team of anime voice talents has never been greater, or more diverse.

At the beginning of the pandemic, our teams worked to create the best quality remote recording options for clients and talents worldwide. The Kitchen developed a relatively uncomplicated, inexpensive and complete home studio format that has been extremely productive and has added greatly to our in-studio capabilities. Anime is just one of the many genres that has truly benefited from the stay-at-home orders. It is believed that to understand the art of anime, you must be a fan.  That’s an easy edict here at The Kitchen, since the majority of our global directing teams and our talent, are avid fans of all things’ anime.

Anime is an international phenomenon today. Our actors have their own blogs, hundreds of fans, and love, love, love lending voices to the Japanese originals. Their voices alone are recognized where-ever they go, and they are often asked to participate in fun venues, touting the exciting world of anime.

The Kitchen is quite proud to be at the forefront in the localization of the anime genre as it continues to impact a worldwide audience. The studio looks forward to dubbing more and more titles, and to introducing more and more characters, on behalf of some of the industry’s most brilliant anime producers, to audiences around the globe.
