The Kitchen celebrates 25 years as a leading language service provider.
“The Kitchen has just entered our 25th year as a leading language service provider. "We are celebrating our team, our colleagues and our clients, for their continued faith and on-going, unwavering support in all we do,” Ken Lorber, Founding Partner/President/CEO explained.
Out of the gate, The Kitchen and its then parent company, TM Systems, was awarded two Prime Time Emmy Awards for the creation and implementation of the industry’s first “end to end” suite of language software tools. Not only was the software used within The Kitchen, but it also rapidly became a part of language service providers’ offerings in Los Angeles, Mexico, Argentina and throughout Europe. “That gave us a leg-up on our competition back then, and we continue to retain that type of out-of-the-box attitude with all we do,” Lorber added. “The idea to submit our translation, dubbing, subtitling and QC software to the Emmys was that type of thinking. Never before had a language company even been considered for the Emmy nod. Why not, has always been our motto.”
Next came the coveted National Association of Broadcasters “AIM” Award, for Achievement in Media. “While the software was a success in 2002, and several years following, we have since embraced newer and more advanced technologies. The Emmy Winning moniker and our unique vision 25 years ago however, will always be a part of our story!”

NEW CHALLENGES
2026 will undoubtedly bring more advancements, more growth and new technology to The Kitchen. “The opportunities for the expansion of our core services are endless. The industry breakthroughs that have taken place between 2001 and today, have proven our theory as a global language provider to be right on. We must change as the industry changes. We must grow as the industry grows. We must embrace change as the industry embraces those changes,” Ken Lorber explained. “Clients rely on The Kitchen to take them to the next level: to provide tested, new technology that will enhance their current and future needs. That is what always has led us to the next level as a trusted language service provider”.
“We predict this year to be a year of growth and new beginnings for our global teams,” Lorber added. In the next few months, The Kitchen is expected to introduce its first Los Angeles-based offices/studio/language hub, specifically to embrace the needs of the major Studios and global distributors. “While the past 25 years have been exciting, unpredictable, challenging and most of all—fun---we know that 2026 is going to be a blockbuster for our Kitchen family,” Lorber said.
