Señal News shares, "The Kitchen Promotes Eutdel Garcia to VP of Operations and Technology"

Expanded role consolidates global operations and engineering as the studio advances its technical and production capabilities.

The Kitchen has promoted Eutdel Garcia to the newly created position of Vice President of Operations and Technology, effective immediately. Based at the company’s Miami headquarters, Garcia will now oversee all global operations for the Emmy Award-winning language studio.

Garcia has served as Vice President of Engineering since 2021 and was directly responsible for leading the studio into the Trusted Partner Network Gold Badge program over the past five and a half years. In his expanded role, he will oversee all operations, including casting, production, mixing, media management, project management and the global vendor department, while continuing to lead the engineering team.

“I’m personally thrilled with the direction our teams are heading into. The fusion of operations and engineering will undoubtedly assist us in streamlining our current workflow systems, while integrating new opportunities as well,” Garcia said. “There are so many possibilities on the horizon. As a whole, The Kitchen looks forward to growth physically and technically.”

With a 25-year industry background in both technical and operational roles, Garcia previously held the position of Director of Engineering at Discovery Networks prior to joining The Kitchen. Reflecting on his career path, he said: “I’ve loved engineering since I was a kid. My closets in my bedroom were filled with tools and whatever I could find that looked technical. My Mom was my biggest supporter and with every new gadget, I became more and more enamored with this industry.”

He added: “I actually received my engineering degree while I was working overnight at HBO….I asked a lot of questions in that position, and little did I know, they were watching me….and before I knew it, I was given an opportunity to be an entry level engineer….I jumped at the challenge. It truly was my dream!”

Garcia later became engineering manager at HBO before joining Harris Corporation, where he was involved in designing systems globally. “I had the unique opportunity to travel the world and design operational systems with my team. It was an amazing opportunity to learn and experience different cultures globally, a key element to understanding our international client needs here at The Kitchen,” he said.

“After HBO, I then joined the Discovery Networks and during my eight years there, I was able to implement all of the knowledge I gained,” Garcia added. “Growing the team and the technology here at The Kitchen continues to excite me every day. That is truly the best part of this industry. You never know what will come next, but you do know to always be prepared for whatever it may be!”

As part of the leadership restructuring, Carlos Marcano, previously Assistant Production Systems Engineer, has been appointed Manager of Technical Operations. In his new role, he will oversee media management and production teams, reporting directly to Garcia.

Ken Lorber, President and CEO of The Kitchen, commented: “Eutdel has put together an amazing team. I know that he is a strong influence on our entire team and that The Kitchen’s position as a leading language service provider globally relies on his expertise, enthusiasm and guidance. Eutdel’s energy and understanding of both the operational and technical side of the business is something I rely on every day.”

The promotion reflects The Kitchen’s continued investment in operational integration and technological innovation as it strengthens its position in the global language services market.
