The localization studio has elevated Marcano from his role as Production Systems Engineer, charging him with leading the global post-production tech team and streamlining international workflows across multiple time zones.

The Kitchen has upped Carlos Marcano to Technical Operations Manager, elevating him from his previous role as Production Systems Engineer. In this new position, Marcano will head the studio’s post-production technician team, overseeing operations ranging from media ingestion to laybacks and final project deliveries.

Marcano’s journey with The Kitchen began nine years ago when he joined as an Artistic Director and Recordist. Transitioning later to the post-production and IT department, he managed the upkeep of the facility’s 17 dubbing and mixing suites while supervising IT operations for the company's personnel.

"Carlos has a great deal of attention for details, has tremendous time management skills and just the right attitude to deal with our multi-lingual and diverse personnel. He also excels in completing whatever engineering tasks come along on a day to day basis," said Eutdel Garcia, Vice President of Operations and Technology at The Kitchen.

"My main priority coming into my new leadership role is to bring in a new perspective to the post-production team," Marcano explained regarding his objectives. "I’ve been moving and working with different departments within The Kitchen over the years, and have seen different hurdles that the teams can come across in a production pipeline. I aim to organize a structure that anticipates these issues and allows our team members to work seamlessly together."

Acknowledging the logistical hurdles of his new responsibilities, Marcano added: "The biggest challenge for me is going to be managing all the different time zones our team members live and work in, as we have team members all over the world, from Miami to Brazil, Turkey to London to Spain and so on. I’m extremely proud of my team, their work ethic, the passion for their crafts, and their dedication to giving the best quality of work they possibly can. I look forward to improving our workflows, and continuing to work with this very talented production team."
